Privacy policy

PourPause is made by Marketing XP Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: it stays on your phone.

What PourPause stores

PourPause keeps a diary of the drinks you log, any context you add (where, who, mood, cost), urges you record, your if–then plans, your weekly budget and your preferences. It also stores the answers to three screening questions you can choose to complete during set-up.

All of this is stored only on your iPhone, in the app's own storage. It is included in your normal iPhone backups if you have those turned on (iCloud Backup or a computer backup), which are governed by Apple's privacy policy.

What PourPause does not do

• It does not create an account or ask you to sign in.
• It does not send your data to us or to anyone else. There is no PourPause server.
• It does not use analytics, tracking or advertising software of any kind.
• It does not sell, share or process your data for any purpose.

Apple Health

If you choose to turn on "Write to Apple Health" in Settings, PourPause writes a count of each alcoholic drink you log to the Health app on your phone. It never reads anything from Apple Health. Data written to Apple Health is controlled by you in the Health app and is subject to Apple's Health privacy terms. PourPause does not use Health data for advertising or marketing, and never will.

Accountability partner

If you choose to nominate a person in Settings, PourPause composes a message (a weekly summary, daily totals or individual drinks — whichever you pick) and hands it to your own Mail app or Messages app for you to send. PourPause never sees the message or the address after that; sending is done by your email provider under their terms. You can stop sharing at any time from the same screen.

Notifications

Reminders and plan prompts are scheduled locally on your phone. No notification passes through any server.

Your data, your control

• Export: Settings → Data → Export CSV gives you everything in a plain file.
• Delete: Settings → Data → Delete all data removes every drink, urge and plan from the app. Deleting the app from your phone also removes all of its data.

Children

PourPause is for adults aged 18 and over and is rated accordingly on the App Store.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at pourpause.com/privacy with the date updated above.
